Art in Arkansas?
Day 1 – Wednesday - May 9
Wow! Art in Arkansas?
Recently, Travel and Leisure magazine listed “12 Hot Spots to visit in ‘12”…and the only American destination listed was Bentonville, Arkansas. So, here’s your chance!
One of the world’s richest heiresses has had a private art collection that is now being shared with the world. Alice Walton hired world-renown architect Moche Safdie to design the colossal Crystal Bridges Art Galley.

We’ll have a guided tour plus free time. Paved walking paths surround the building featuring some of Arkansas’ prettiest scenery and dogwood trees.
See masters of American art, such as Andy Warhol, Asher Durand, Impressionist painter and Norman Rockwell Rosie the Riveter.
Check out the charming old town square full of beckoning shops, and luscious home-style food. Sam Walton’s first store, a tiny Five and Dime, has just been renewed.
We’ll also visit Fayetteville, a college town whose middle name ought to be “fun!” Dinner included tonight.
DAY 2 – Thursday - May 10
More fun, more art, plus a dinner in a lovely park.
We’ll visit the Clinton House where President Clinton live when he was a professor and see the stunning First Lady’s garden, filled with her favorite flowers.
Learn a bit about the Daisy Air Gun (don’t
shoot your eye out!) and ancient Native Americans from prehistoric time. In one of the most creative atmospheres, visit Terre where artists of pottery, and ceramics, fountains and fun are all a part of a lovely forest-like setting.
More surprises before we return home approximately 8PM.
